This course is designed for beginners and will introduce you to all the core techniques of throwing on the potters wheel. In our welcoming and friendly studio you’ll be guided through centering, making a variety of forms and then finishing your work with slip decoration.

Day one
We’ll cover throwing mugs, jugs and bowls.

Day Two

You’ll turn your pots and attach handles. Then we will explore slip decoration including dyeing the slip with stains, inlay line drawing and sgraffito.

Your work will then be fired and glazed in your choice of house glazes and ready to be collected after two weeks.

Clay and Glazes

All of our classes use the same stoneware clay and unique glazes that Jen has developed for the studio. This also means that your work will be perfect for tableware, microwave and dishwasher safe and even able to go in the oven!

All classes take place in the pottery at 684 Pollokshaws Rd.
There is free parking on March Street and Nithesdale Drive only a minutes walk away.
We are 5 mins walk from Queens Park Station and on many bus routes.
